noovu — Privacy Policy

noovu is a private cycle and medication tracker. It was built for one purpose: to let you keep track of your own body on your own phone. It is not a service, and there is nothing on the other end of it.

The short version

noovu collects nothing. The app has no servers, nothing to sign in to, no usage analytics, no advertising, and no third-party components. It contains no networking code at all, so it cannot send your data anywhere, to us or to anyone else. Everything you enter stays in the app’s private storage on your device.

The developer never receives, sees, or stores any of your information.

What the app stores on your device

• Days you mark as menstruation and their intensity, whether you set it yourself or it came from an import
• Symptom events you log, and the event types you create
• Medications you add: name, schedule, reminder time, colour, and the dates you started and stopped
• Days you mark a medication as taken, with the time of the tap, and days the app marks as taken for you when you set a start date in the past
• Your app settings

This information is stored only in noovu’s private storage on your device.

Apple Health

Apple Health integration is optional and switched off until you turn it on.

• Reading happens only when you tap an import action, and only for menstrual flow and spotting, so your existing history can be brought into the app.
• Writing happens only while Sync to Apple Health is on. noovu mirrors your period days and those symptoms that have a matching Health category, and it only ever modifies or deletes samples that noovu itself wrote.

Both directions require your explicit permission, which iOS asks for separately and which you can withdraw at any time in the Health app under Sources. Health data is never used for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than showing you your own records.

Notifications

Medication reminders are scheduled locally by your device. No notification is sent through any server, and no reminder content leaves your phone.

Backups

Like any app’s data, noovu’s storage is included in your device’s regular backups if you use them — iCloud Backup or an encrypted backup to your computer. This is deliberate: it is what allows your history to survive moving to a new phone. Those backups are made and protected by Apple under your own Apple Account settings, and you can exclude backups entirely in iOS settings. noovu itself never uploads anything.

Exporting your data

Settings → Export all data (CSV) produces a file containing everything you have logged, and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet. Where that file then goes is entirely your choice. Once you have shared it somewhere, that copy is outside the app and this policy no longer governs it.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays on your device for as long as you keep the app. Deleting noovu deletes its stored data with it. Anything noovu previously wrote to Apple Health remains in Health, where you can review and delete it yourself.

Because nothing is ever transmitted, there is no remote copy to request, correct, or erase — you already hold the only copy, and the export gives you a portable version of it whenever you want one.

Children

noovu is intended for adults tracking their own health. It is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
